Frequently asked questions

How can I become a volunteer at your shelter?

To get started, simply fill out our online volunteer application form. After that, we’ll invite you to an orientation session where you’ll learn more about our work and how you can help.

Do I need experience with animals to volunteer?

No experience is required! We welcome volunteers of all skill levels. If you’re new to animal care, we offer training and support to help you build the knowledge you need. If you have experience, we’ll provide you with opportunities to further develop your skills.

What kind of volunteer roles are available?

We offer a variety of roles, including:

  • Dog walking and socializing
  • Cat care and socialization
  • Assisting with adoption events
  • Helping with fundraising or outreach programs
  • Supporting our animal ambulance service
  • Acting as a foster home for animals

You can choose a role that fits your skills and interests.

How much time do I need to commit?

We understand that life is busy! You can volunteer as much or as little as your schedule allows. Whether you have a few hours a week or can offer more, every bit of help is appreciated.

Is there an age limit for volunteering?

We generally require volunteers to be at least 16 years old. However, younger volunteers can join with a parent or guardian if they’re helping in certain roles, such as fundraising or educational outreach. Please contact us for more details on age requirements.

Will I be trained to volunteer?

Yes! All new volunteers go through an orientation where we provide training on animal care, shelter operations, and safety protocols. You’ll be fully prepared to start making a difference.

What benefits do volunteers receive?

While volunteering is about giving back, we also strive to make it a fulfilling experience for you. Volunteers receive training, gain hands-on animal care experience, and become part of a passionate community. Plus, you’ll get the satisfaction of knowing you’re making a real difference!

How can I get more involved after becoming a volunteer?

Once you’re part of our volunteer team, there are many ways to get more involved! You can take on new responsibilities, attend special training sessions, or help with larger events and initiatives.

Volunteering at the shelter has shown me the power of kindness and compassion. Every day, I get to see the difference we can make in an animal’s life – whether it’s a warm bed, a little bit of love, or the chance to find a forever home. It’s more than volunteering; it’s about changing lives, including my own.
